La Cueva Mexican Restaurant

I know the cook personally, he is a great cook and has a reputation for cooking up some really good food. My son says he makes the best salsa in the world. And that is saying something. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food that tastes good and isn't too expensive, with a great atmosphere this is the place to go.

Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! Great variety, even included sufficient American dishes such as club sandwiches and Po Boys in case you weren't in the mood for Mexican. The street tacos were excellent, larger portions than expected. The queso was good and the salsa was average. But the chips came warm, and the avocado was fresh! And the mini quesadilla was anything but small. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and artistic, the decor reminded me of the desert. Everything was well appointed, and the layout was great for privacy, with a view of a TV from every seat. The wait staff were on top of things, and always with a smile, while not being intrusive. My only wish list item (as in every Mexican restaurant in Mississippi we visit) is black beans. Nevertheless: 5 stars!

Enchiladas Supremas is always my first order when visiting a Mexican Food restaurant for the first time. It was excellent, and the bloody mary was really good too.

Love this hidden treasure that is 20 minutes away.
